The Ideas

Hello J-Termers,

I believe strongly in the uniqueness of the J-Term; it not only gives us an amazing education, it gives us a chance to build strong bonds. I already feel our J-Term has traversed the cluster designations but over the summer we will truly become one family.

I think I can help make this happen, and specifically, I would like to work on:

  • Close cooperation with J-Term AVPs and Cluster Reps – During summer all of our planning has to happen across those that have volunteered for both clusters and for individual clubs
  • Professional and Career Panels and Events – The summer is when we begin our career search and it is vital to have professional opportunities of all types
  • Events and Trips – I would like to plan events that can only happen during this time; for example weekend at the Hamptons, paintballing, etc.
  • Professor Interaction – Many professors are here over the summer and the smaller student body size will allow us opportunities for closer interaction
  • Bottom Line & Happy Hour – I want to continue the traditions that make the regular term so enjoyable
  • Address Uris Closure and Warren Facilities - We will face everyday challenges which need to be addressed early

Thank you for considering me for the position of Summer President. I have already made an effort to help plan events than span the J-Term clusters and working with everyone has been a pleasure. I hope to continue this collaboration throughout the academic, social, and professional aspects of our summer and continue during our second year at Columbia.

My flyer says X + Y + Z = J. I know it sounds corny, but I believe it, and I think that we can make the rest of our time here something amazing.
